Seeking out therapy can be an intimidating and overwhelming process. Many of our clients have expressed how reaching out for support is one of the most difficult tasks they have ever done. When we hear clients share how scared or anxious they were in taking the first step of booking an appointment we might respond with: "that was brave and courageous of you to make that first step! We are so grateful that you came - now you can leave the rest up to the counselling relationship.

In our practice, when working with clients, creating a working alliance is important as it helps foster a solid foundation to strengthen the courage it took to reach out. Furthermore, it is one of the core fundamentals within our practice. We appreciate and accept transparency with clients while cultivating a strong rapport to help guide you through your journey. The environment you can expect in our sessions is one where you can allow your bravery to take a seat beside you while being vulnerable in a safe, supportive, and empathetic space. Therapy is scary, driving a car for the first time is scary. As we walk through life, we encounter many scary events, but it is how we navigate those emotions with curiosity, vulnerability, and bravery that will help us build a strong brave self!

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen”
